My Dad would have been 93 today.
TOP TEN lessons I learned from him that he didn’t try to teach me, he let me watch:
- Life isn’t fair, play well with the cards that you’re dealt, and keep a couple up your sleeve
- When someone dies, grieve fast and move on, its a constant
- Do the right thing, for the right reason, without seeking reward or recognition
- Eat what you enjoy, not what you’re told
- If your family doesn’t appreciate or respect your loved ones, ditch your family
- If your child doesn’t want to go to school don’t force them, there’s a reason
- A single parent can build a business, run a home and raise a child all at the same time
- Don’t concern yourself about what the neighbors say
- Go for long meaningless walks, try and ensure there’s a country pub on the trail
- Always be a mensch
