April Women’s Safety Seminar

This 2 hour gathering is designed to help women like you cultivate a safety mindset and build confidence. We have local community advocates discussing multiple techniques and legal & community resources, to empower you in nurturing safety for yourself and those around you.

• We will share short demonstrations of common potentially-threatening situations, and how they can be avoided or escaped quickly.

• A discussion about “Fight, Flight, or Freeze” and what breathing techniques you can use to soothe your nervous system in times of trauma or anxiety.

• With an intro by local women, who will be sharing their personal assault stories that inspired them to make changes in their lives, and become advocates for other women.

Two lucky participants will win a safety tool they can take home.

Ticket fees will be donated to the Center for Community Solutions.

CCS is committed to helping survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault lead safer and healthier lives.

After the presentation, we will have a mix & mingle where you can ask questions and learn about taking a self-defense class.

TRIGGER WARNING: During this event there will be both stories and demonstrations shared that could be triggering to certain individuals, depending on their personal experiences.

MINORS: Children under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

FOOD & DRINK: The event may include alcoholic beverages and you must be 21+ to consume alcohol. Attendees acknowledge that they are aware of the risks of participation including food sickness and allergic reactions.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY: By attending the event, and in light of the above, you acknowledge the inherent risks of participation and agree to voluntarily assume all risks. You agree not to hold any event sponsors or attendees liable for any illness or injury that may occur. PAYMENT & CANCELLATION Full advance payment is required to attend. Please note that reimbursements for cancellations or no-shows will not be given so be absolutely sure you’re attending when you book. Speak to us regarding any illness/covid concerns prior to the event date for possible reschedule to another event.
